In this screencast, I cover the who and why for installing WordPress and MAMP on OS X. For web developers, this is very handy for obvious reasons. For those of us who run websites, it’s handy to serve as a testing ground. And it’s a great way for someone to get into, and learn not only WordPress, but also the other popular CMS’s that are free and available to all like joomla, phpBB, Mambo, Coppermine etc. MANM requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later…. Install wordpress to your local computer! This is a great tip for anyone that is familiar with the wordpress platform and is seriously thinking of getting into web development. With this setup, you are able to host your own internal wordpress installation to develop your applications or sites for your clients (if they aren’t ready to go live).
