How To Upload A WordPress Theme Via FTP Client Then Apply It
This video will show you how to change the theme of your new WordPress blog. First, you need an FTP client, either www.download3k.com or downloads.sourceforge.net Either Core FTP Lite or Firezilla are good, free FTP clients. Here is also a blog post on the blog in this video that tells you where to get WordPress themes for free

Lovely how I keep saying “Firezilla” instead of “Filezilla.” I’m so cool I can hardly stand it. This is why I hate watching my own videos and why I don’t watch the ones where you can see me too.

im just confused about one part – do you need to have an actual server to upload a new theme to wordpress or is it enough to have the blog itself.

no, but I don’t know why you wouldn’t. I have dealt with more bullshit over the years and finally have all of my domains at Go Daddy and my hosting at Host Gator and Go Daddy.

That’s because it’s a different version of WordPress now. I’ll have to do some new videos it would appear.
